– Four options for onward travel to Mountain Lodge

1. Rail transfer

Our recommended transfer method from Geneva airport is to use the fast and punctual Swiss railways, especially if it is a short break ski trip. The station is in the airport terminal, just a 10 minute walk from baggage reclaim, and the one and a half hour journey takes you around the northern shore of beautiful Lake Geneva and on to Aigle station, where one of our staff will collect you for the short drive up to Les Crosets. Alternatively, you have the option of continuing your journey by train to Monthey and then via venicular train to Val-d’Illiez. There is no need to pre-book train tickets, they can be bought from the railway station ticket office in Geneva Airport. For more information on the train services please click here.

2. Taxi transfer

There are many independent companies that offer airport transfers, pleae contact us for details and recomendations.

3. Private transfer

At Mountain Lodge we also have our own fleet of vehicles, including an executive 7-seat Mercedes with DVD entertainment for the journey. Any of our vehicles are available to book directly. Please contact customer services for details before making your hotel booking.

Please note that Mountain Lodge is not responsible for missed transfers due to flight delays. If bookings are made on behalf of guests with independent companies, we cannot be held responsible for any disagreements, which the guest must settle with the transport company.

4. Car Hire

Car hire from the airport can be very reasonable and often works out cheaper than a private hire transfer, with the added benefit of giving you extra flexibility. All of the major car hire companies are based at Geneva Airport, however it is worth noting that you must hire from the Swiss side and return car to the Swiss side to avoid any unnecessary delays. If you travel via EasyJet, it can be convenient to hire a car when you book your flights.

Option B: Eurostar Train

Eurostar offer a very fast train service from London St Pancras to Paris and then on to Laussane on the shores of lake Geneva. A frequent local train will follow the shore of Lake Geneva to your final destination of Aigle, which is less than 1/2hr road transfer up to Mountain Lodge. Very soon you will be relaxing in the atmospheric bar and lounge with log fire and views of the ski slope and the stunning peaks of the dents du midi

Option C: Door to Door Self Drive

Mountain Lodge is about 8hrs drive time from Calais. ViaMichelin is a great site for planning your route. On arrival you will enter the hotel via the underground secure car park. Very soon you will be relaxing in the atmospheric bar and lounge with log fire and views of the ski slope and the stunning peaks of the dents du midi mountains. If you choose to drive your own car, please remember to buy the Swiss Motorway tax (Vignette), which is available to order online from the Switzerland Travel Centre website.
