Flights
The nearest airports to Les Crosets are Sion which has a one hour transfer time, and Geneva which has a one and a half hour transfer time. Geneva airport is well served from all of the London airports, as well as many regional airports including Bristol, Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh. Flight times vary, however from London airports to Geneva, the flying time is approximately one hour and 20 minutes.
Airport Transfers
Rail - Our recommended transfer method from Geneva airport is to use the fast and punctual Swiss railways. The station is in the airport terminal, just a 10 minute walk from baggage reclaim, and the one and a half hour journey takes you around the northern shore of beautiful Lake Geneva and up to Aigle, where one of our staff will collect you for the short drive up to Les Crosets. Alternatively, you have the option of continuing your journey by train to Monthey and then via venicular train to Val-d'Illiez. There is no need to pre-book train tickets, they can be bought from the railway station ticket office in Geneva Airport. For more information on the train services please click here.
Taxi - There are many independent companies that offer airport transfers, however we have used and can recommend Closillon Tours.
Private transfer - At Mountain Lodge we also have our own executive 7-seat Mercedes with DVD entertainment for the journey, which is available to book directly at a competitive price. Please contact customer services for price and availability before making your hotel booking.
Please note that Mountain Lodge is not responsible missed transfers due to flight delays. If bookings are made on behalf of guests with independent companies, we cannot be held responsible for any disagreements, which the guest must settle with the transport company.
Car Hire
Car hire from the airport can be very reasonable and often works out cheaper than a private hire transfer, with the added benefit of giving you extra flexibility. All of the major car hire companies are based at Geneva Airport, however it is worth noting that you must hire from the Swiss side and return car to the Swiss side to avoid any unnecessary delays. If you travel via EasyJet, it can be convenient to hire a car when you book your flights.
Self Drive
If you choose to drive your own car, please remember to buy the Swiss Motorway tax (Vignette), which is available to order online from the Switzerland Travel Centre website at http://www.switzerlandtravelcentre.co.uk/vignette.html
Guest Parking
We have the luxury of our own secure underground car park with 24 spaces. If you chose to drive to Mountain Lodge, we can offer you parking with direct access to both Mountain Lodge and our ski boot room, which is linked to our ski hire facility.
